🚀 Getting Started
How do I create a carrier account?+
Creating a carrier account takes less than 5 minutes. Go to portal.vau0.com, click Register, enter your company name and email address. No credit card required. No demo call. No salesperson will contact you. You can start creating loads immediately after registration.
How long does setup take?+
Under 10 minutes for a single truck. Account creation: 3 minutes. Adding your first truck and driver: 2 minutes. Plugging in ERETH ELD: under 5 minutes. You can have your first load created and your truck on the live map in under 10 minutes from starting signup.
Do I need to install any software?+
No installation required. VAU0 Portal runs entirely in your web browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. The VAU0 Driver App for iOS is available on the App Store for drivers who want ELD functionality on their phone. Everything else is web-based.
Can I import my existing loads and data from another TMS?+
Yes. We support CSV import for historical load data, driver records, and truck information. Our team assists enterprise accounts with data migration. For most carriers, setup is faster starting fresh than migrating — the portal is designed to be operational immediately.
What do I need to get started?+
Just your company name and email address for basic access. To fully use the platform you'll also want: your truck's VIN and year/make/model, driver CDL information, and your preferred broker contacts. None of this is required to create your account — you add it as you go.
Is there a minimum fleet size?+
No minimum. VAU0 works for a single owner-operator with one truck and scales to 200+ truck fleets. The platform doesn't charge per truck during the free access period, so there's no cost difference between 1 truck and 100.
🚚 Carrier TMS & Load Management
What does the Carrier TMS include?+
Everything your dispatch operation needs:
  • Load creation, assignment, and status tracking
  • Rate Confirmation AI parser (upload PDF → load created automatically)
  • Multi-stop load support
  • Broker contact management
  • E-sign rate confirmations
  • Document vault (rate cons, BOLs, PODs)
  • Live dispatch map with ELD-synced GPS
  • Driver onboarding and DQ file management
  • 21 integrated modules — all included
How does Rate Con AI work?+
Upload any broker rate confirmation PDF — via the portal or by forwarding to your VAU0 email address. Our AI reads the document and extracts: origin city/state, destination, pickup date and window, delivery date and window, rate, equipment type, broker company name, broker contact, and reference number. A load is created in your TMS in seconds. Accuracy is 95%+ on standard broker formats (C.H. Robinson, Echo, Coyote, XPO, and 500+ others). You review before confirming — it's never fully automatic without your approval.
Can I manage multiple drivers from one account?+
Yes. Add unlimited drivers to your carrier account. Each driver gets their own portal access with role-based permissions — they see their loads and documents, not your financials. Dispatchers get their own access level. You control who sees what.
How does the live dispatch map work?+
The live map shows real-time positions of all your trucks, updated every 60 seconds from ERETH ELD telemetry. You can see driver status (Driving/On Duty/Off Duty/Sleeper Berth), load status, and ETA. You can generate a shareable tracking link for any load — brokers and shippers can follow the truck in real time without having access to your portal.
Does VAU0 support multi-stop loads?+
Yes. Create loads with unlimited stops — multiple pickups, multiple deliveries, in any order. Each stop has its own appointment window, contact information, and status tracking. Rate per stop is configurable.
Can I connect with brokers directly through VAU0?+
Currently, broker communication happens via rate con PDF upload, email, and AI phone calls. Direct API integration with C.H. Robinson Navisphere, Echo, Coyote, and Uber Freight is in development for Q3 2026. DAT and Truckstop.com load board direct integration is also coming Q3 2026.
How does e-sign work for rate confirmations?+
When a broker sends you a rate confirmation, it comes into VAU0 Portal (via upload or email forward). The carrier reviews all load details on screen, then signs electronically. The signature is GPS-verified (captures signer location), timestamped, IP-logged, and cryptographically hashed — meaning any document change after signing invalidates the signature. Signed documents are emailed to both parties automatically and stored permanently in your document vault.
Can I export load data to QuickBooks or Excel?+
CSV export is available for all load data. QuickBooks and Xero direct integration is in development for Q4 2026. For now, the CSV export works with most accounting software import workflows.
📡 ERETH ELD & Telematics
Is ERETH ELD FMCSA registered?+
Yes. ERETH ELD is registered with FMCSA under ELD ID ERS238 and complies with 49 CFR Part 395. It meets all technical specifications of the FMCSA ELD mandate. During roadside inspections, drivers can transfer logs via web services or email as required by regulation.
How do I install ERETH ELD?+
Plug the ERETH ELD device into your truck's OBD-II port (standard diagnostic port present on all commercial vehicles manufactured after 2000). Installation takes under 5 minutes and requires no tools. The device pairs automatically with the VAU0 Driver App on the driver's phone via Bluetooth. No dealer installation required.
What data does ERETH ELD collect?+
ERETH ELD collects: GPS position (every 60 seconds), vehicle speed (from ECM), engine RPM, coolant temperature, fuel consumption, idle time, engine hours, odometer reading, battery voltage, engine fault codes (DTC), and driving behavior events (hard braking, rapid acceleration, cornering). All data syncs to VAU0 Portal in real time.
Does ERETH ELD work without cellular signal?+
Yes. ERETH ELD logs HOS data internally when there's no cellular signal. All logs are stored on the device and synced to VAU0 Portal when connectivity is restored. Drivers can continue operating in compliance even in areas with no signal. GPS position updates resume automatically when coverage returns.
What vehicles are compatible?+
Any commercial vehicle with an OBD-II or J1939 diagnostic port manufactured after 2000. This includes virtually all Class 7 and Class 8 trucks — Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, International, and Western Star. For older vehicles without OBD-II, contact us at office@vau0.com.
Can I transfer the ELD between trucks?+
Yes. Unplug ERETH ELD from one truck and plug into another. The device re-registers to the new vehicle automatically. All driver HOS history transfers with the driver profile — the ELD doesn't store data per-vehicle, it stores it per-driver account.
What happens during a roadside inspection?+
The driver opens the VAU0 Driver App, navigates to the Roadside Inspection screen, and selects the data transfer method (web services or email) as requested by the officer. Logs are transmitted instantly. The driver can also show logs directly on the app screen. ERETH ELD's data transfer meets FMCSA technical specifications for all inspection scenarios.
AI Dispatch & Call Center
How does AI dispatch work?+
VAU0 has 11 AI voice agents powered by GPT-4o that call freight brokers, negotiate rates, and book loads — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You set your minimum rate per mile, target rate, preferred lanes, and available dates. The AI calls brokers from your contact list and load board leads, asks for their rate first, negotiates toward your target, and never accepts below your floor. When a load is agreed, it's booked directly into your TMS and you receive a push notification.
Will brokers know they're talking to AI?+
Our agents are designed to sound like professional human dispatchers. They use natural speech, industry vocabulary, and handle broker objections the way an experienced dispatcher would. Most brokers complete full negotiations without detecting AI. We designed the agents around real dispatcher behavior — right down to using only round numbers in negotiations and asking for the broker's rate before naming a price.
What's my minimum rate and how do I set it?+
In VAU0 Portal settings, you set your minimum rate per mile for each lane type. This is your absolute floor — the AI will never accept below it regardless of time of day or how many loads have been called. You also set a target rate (what you're trying to get). The AI negotiates between these two numbers using market intelligence.
Does AI dispatch replace my human dispatcher?+
Not necessarily — it's designed to work alongside them. AI handles: after-hours calls (nights, weekends, holidays), overflow during busy periods, routine negotiations on standard lanes, and rate con parsing. Your human dispatcher handles: broker relationship management, complex or high-value negotiations, exception handling (breakdowns, delays), and strategic lane development. Most carriers use both — the AI covers what human dispatchers can't.
How many broker calls can the AI make?+
There's no limit on call volume. The AI can simultaneously work multiple loads across multiple brokers. A typical active day for our AI center involves dozens of broker contacts per load being searched. The system prioritizes brokers based on your history, past rates, and load requirements.
Can I listen to calls the AI makes?+
Yes. Every AI broker call is recorded and stored in VAU0 Portal. You can listen to any call, read the transcript, and see the outcome (rate offered, rate agreed, load booked or declined). Call summaries are sent to your dashboard after each completed negotiation.
👤 Drivers & Onboarding
How does driver onboarding work?+
Drivers receive an application link and complete the entire onboarding process on their phone or computer: personal information, CDL upload, employment history (3 years required by FMCSA), medical certificate, drug test consent, and e-sign all required documents. Your recruiter sees their progress in real time. Most drivers complete onboarding in 48 hours. All documents are stored in a FMCSA-compliant DQ file.
What documents does VAU0 collect during driver onboarding?+
VAU0 collects all FMCSA-required driver qualification documents: CDL (front and back), medical certificate, previous employment history (3 years), accident history, drug test consent, background check consent, motor vehicle record consent, and company employment agreement. All documents are stored permanently and tracked for expiration.
How do drivers access their loads and HOS?+
Through the VAU0 Driver Portal (web browser) or the VAU0 Driver App (iOS). Drivers see their assigned loads, load details, documents, HOS status, DVIR history, and can message dispatch directly. The Driver App also connects to ERETH ELD via Bluetooth for automatic HOS logging.
How does DVIR work for drivers?+
Before each trip (pre-trip) and after each trip (post-trip), drivers complete a digital vehicle inspection through the VAU0 Driver App. They go through each inspection category, mark items as satisfactory or defective, and upload photos of any defects. Defects are flagged to the carrier immediately and tracked through repair verification. Records are stored for 90+ days meeting FMCSA requirements.
Can drivers see their pay and settlements?+
Basic pay information is available in the driver portal. Full driver pay and settlement module with pay stubs and itemized deductions is in active development and scheduled for 2026. Carriers can currently export settlement data to share with drivers.
What if a driver loses their phone?+
HOS data is stored on the ERETH ELD device and in the cloud — not only on the phone. A driver can log into the VAU0 Driver App on any iOS device and their account, loads, and HOS history are all there. No data is lost if a phone is replaced.
💰 Billing & Pricing
Is VAU0 really free?+
Yes. VAU0 Portal — including the full TMS, ERETH ELD integration, AI dispatch, driver onboarding, e-sign, and live fleet map — is completely free through December 31, 2026. No credit card required at signup. No hidden fees. No feature tiers. You get everything.
What happens after December 2026?+
We will announce our post-2026 pricing no later than December 1, 2026 — giving all active carriers at least 30 days notice. Carriers who joined during the free access period will receive preferred early-adopter pricing. We expect pricing to be significantly lower than comparable platforms (AscendTMS Pro, Motive, McLeod).
Is there a limit on loads, drivers, or trucks during the free period?+
No limits of any kind. Add as many trucks, drivers, and loads as your operation requires. The free period is genuinely unlimited — we want you to use the platform fully, not hold back because you're worried about hitting a cap.
Do I need to pay for ERETH ELD hardware?+
During the free access period, contact us at office@vau0.com after creating your account to arrange ELD device delivery for your fleet. Hardware costs for the free period are covered as part of our early-access program for qualifying carriers.
Will you charge for AI dispatch separately?+
Our planned post-2026 model includes a per-load fee for loads booked by AI dispatch (approximately 1-3% of the load rate — far less than a human dispatcher's 5-12%). This has not been finalized. During the free period, AI dispatch is included at no cost.
🔒 Security & Privacy
How is my data secured?+
VAU0 uses HTTPS with HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security) across all three domains (vau0.com, portal.vau0.com, eretheld.com). Session cookies are secure and HTTP-only. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Database access is restricted to application servers. All API endpoints require authentication. Content Security Policy headers are in place on all pages.
Who can see my carrier data?+
Only users you authorize. Role-based access control means dispatchers see loads but not financials, drivers see their own loads and documents, and recruiters see applications but not operational data. No other carrier can see your data. VAU0 staff access to customer data is restricted and logged.
Can I delete my data?+
Yes. You can request complete data deletion at any time by emailing legal@vau0.com. We will confirm deletion within 30 days. This covers all portal data, load records, driver files, and telemetry data stored on our servers.
Is VAU0 GDPR or CCPA compliant?+
VAU0's Privacy Policy covers data rights under both GDPR and CCPA. For detailed compliance information, see our Privacy Policy. For specific compliance questions, email legal@vau0.com.
🔧 Technical & Integration
What browsers does VAU0 Portal support?+
VAU0 Portal works in all modern browsers: Google Chrome (recommended), Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer is not supported. For the best experience, use Chrome or Safari on desktop. The portal is mobile-responsive and works on smartphones, though the full dispatch experience is optimized for desktop.
Does VAU0 have an API?+
Our internal API powers all VAU0 products. A public carrier API for third-party integrations is in planning for 2027. If you have a specific integration need, contact office@vau0.com — we evaluate custom integrations for enterprise accounts.
Can VAU0 integrate with my existing accounting software?+
CSV export works with most accounting software. QuickBooks Online and Xero direct integration is in development for Q4 2026. If you use a specific accounting platform, email office@vau0.com — we prioritize integrations based on customer demand.
What happens if VAU0 has downtime?+
VAU0 Portal maintains 99.98% uptime. ERETH ELD continues logging HOS data locally during any portal outage — driver compliance is never interrupted. For planned maintenance, we provide advance notice by email. Our status and incident history is available at office@vau0.com on request.
Can I use my own ELD instead of ERETH?+
VAU0 Portal's TMS features work without ERETH ELD. However, the live GPS tracking, HOS sync, vehicle telemetry, and predictive maintenance features require ERETH ELD — they use the direct ECM connection that only ERETH provides. You can start with just the TMS and add ERETH ELD when ready.
